Call For Writers

African pop culture is moving fast. There’s so much evolution right now: music, fashion, sports, films, art, tech, and social exchange. What’s more, it’s happening faster than most can keep up with, and most of what gets covered doesn’t go deep enough.

We want to change that.

WeTalkSound is looking for writers, critics, and cultural thinkers to pitch us stories across all of these themes, told from an African perspective, with real depth and a genuine point of view.

We want reviews that show critical thinking. Essays that connect dots. Profiles that reveal people, not just careers. Industry commentary that holds power accountable.

We don’t want glorified press releases, hollow takes, or pieces that treat African culture as a footnote to the rest of the world.

If you’ve got a story that needs to be told, then you need to pitch us.
