There’s a moment on Shades of Blu where Blulyt sings “I’m looking up, you know where I’m from, that’s why I cannot stop,” and it always felt like the emotional center of the whole project, the line where gratitude and hunger sit in the same breath. The video for “Want It All” takes that tension and gives it a body, extending the song, picking up where the lyrics leave off and following the feeling all the way through.
It opens with a leap, the kind that only makes sense in hindsight. A young woman leaves a rural hometown for a city that owes her nothing, and the video isn’t shy about how unglamorous that stretch actually is. There’s no shortcut through the struggle here, no quick cut to the part where things get easier. We sit with her in the grind for a while, in the rooms where nobody’s watching yet, before the shift finally comes and she gets discovered, signed, and set on a real trajectory.
What makes the video work, though, is where it chooses to end. Instead of closing on the deal or the studio or some abstract symbol of arrival, it brings her home. The people who watched her ambition grow from something small and private into something undeniable are the ones waiting for her, and that choice reframes everything that came before it. Wanting it all was never about leaving where she’s from behind. It was always about proving, to the people who knew her first, what was possible from there.
It’s a video that trusts its own story enough to let the ending breathe, and that patience is what separates it from most homecoming narratives of this kind, which tend to rush toward the payoff instead of earning it.
