Audio Girl Africa Launches First Ever ProducHER Series Bootcamp in Nigeria

Sequel to the 5-day Bootcamp in March 2023 in partnership with Mavin Global, Audio Girl Africa is launching her flagship Songwriting and Recording Bootcamp tagged ProducHER Series in Lagos, Nigeria.

The recording and writing boot camp series aims to foster collaboration amongst female creatives across the music industry sector to create a music project together (a single/EP) each session will showcase the contribution of the selected female creatives working behind the scenes.

The ProducHER series has been facilitated through the generous support of Warner Music Group and the Blavatnik Family Foundation Social Justice Fund’s SJF Repertoire and the bootcamp aims to bring together female recording artists, songwriters, producers, mixing engineers, music executives, and industry professionals. Together, they will collaborate in a supportive environment to create and showcase their work within the music industry.

Commenting on this project, Febe Adedamola, Founder of Audio Girl Africa, stated that “This ProducHER series project is four years in the making and with the grant from the Warner Music Group/Blavatnik Family Foundation Social Justice Fund’s SJF Repertoire, our organization is able to launch an initiative like this and continue in our mission to increase the involvement of young African women in the music creation, production and engineering space by providing them with audio technology and music business training opportunities and resources. We are beyond grateful for the support.”

Temilade Adeniji, the MD of Warner Music Africa, also shared, “In awarding Audio Girl Africa with a grant under the Repertoire Fund supported by the WMG BFF Social Justice Fund, Warner Music Africa furthers our commitment to championing participation of young African women in audio technology and the music ecosystem at large. The ProducHER Series camp will commence from the 11th of March to the 15th of March 2024 following the celebration of International  #CountHerIn which attests to the foundation’s overall goal for the camp and beyond: investing in women in music production and audio technology whilst celebrating and showcasing their work. Audio Girl Africa is also extending an invitation to emerging and independent female producers, songwriters and artists to participate in this exciting opportunity to collaborate with other top creatives in the bootcamp. You can apply here.

Through the grant as well, Audio Girl Foundation held her first Live Sound Workshop for the year in Ibadan from the 21st – the 23rd of February. 15 young women were trained on live sound basic skills which include setting up for a live music set, troubleshooting basic live sound issues, basic live sound mixing and recording.
