Following the release of his two-track EP, Know Me, in October 2020 YKB – formerly known as Yusufkanbai – started the year 2021 on a spectacular note with the release of a Twitter video; “Oshofree”, that went viral on the Nigerian internet space. The song garnered over a quarter of a million streams on Audiomack and YKB was recognised as one of the artistes to watch out for by Pitchfork.
For his first official release of 2021, YKB enlists street-hop king, Zlatan Ibile, on Afro-pop ear-grabber, dey your dey. On Dey Your Dey. YKB succinctly describes the need to maintain your lane on an uptempo beat that certainly gets your moving.
