Trip Omon reflects on a decade since the release of The Righteous Kill Mixtape, his debutproject that marked the beginning of a dynamic music career. Released on a Christmas Day2014, the mixtape showcased 25 tracks selected from over 100 recorded songs, setting thefoundation for his artistic journey.
Since that release, Will Wayne Omon also known as “Trip Omon” has delivered five EPs and acouple mixtapes, alongside an array of singles that continue to highlight his unique fusion ofsounds. Stemming right from his upbringing as the youngest of nine siblings in his household brimming with musical diversity and potential, he developed an undying taste that spans(across) all genres. However, his deepest inspiration lies in Rock and Hip-Hop, a passion evident in his bold, genre-blurring style.
“I grew up with music constantly in the background, from gospel to pop, reggae to classical,”says Trip Omon. “But Rock and Hip-Hop became the languages I spoke, two genres thatembody raw, unfiltered emotion and rebellion.” (He says)
Looking ahead, Trip Omon is set to release his highly anticipated single (BREATH) on this day,28th of November 2024. The track promises to strike a chord with listeners, blending introspective lyrics with his signature sound. This song is about finding clarity in chaos, he shares.
“Breath” captures the raw and universal reality of being human, confronting themes ofvulnerability and the often-overlooked beauty of simply breathing. Drawing inspiration fromreal-life experiences, Trip Omon reflects on the weight of health challenges, the inevitability of rest, and the silence of life’s final moments.
“This song is my way of reminding us all to cherish the breath we have,” says Trip Omon. “It’sabout the battles we face—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—and how every momentwe’re given is a gift. Life, as fleeting as it is, carries profound meaning.”
