LAGOS, NIGERIA — Following a brief hiatus from music, singer and songwriter, Tomi Thomas is set to make his highly-anticipated re-emergence on the music scene with the enthralling single “Seeing is Believing” on the 14th of June, 2024. The single follows his 2021 critically acclaimed Hopeless Romantic EP, featuring the legendary Buju Banton.
Infusing his signature blend of soul and afrobeat “Seeing is Believing,” is a potent reminder of Tomi’s lyrical prowess, soulful vocals, and captivating melodies. ABOUT TOMI THOMAS
With 10 years of musical experience, Nigerian singer and songwriter Tomi Thomas has produced a strong discography that has helped establish a growing presence in Africa, expanding to Europe. Tomi Thomas began his career in 2009 as part of a successful Nigerian music collective called Loud On Sound (LOS) who played an instrumental role in championing the new wave sound currently disrupting the Nigerian music charts. The collective was known for smash hits such as “Bad Guy P”, “On Fire” and their most recent reunion 3-track Single titled “Tribe”.
In 2014 Tomi embarked on a solo career with his debut EP, Patience, featuring singles such as “Ready Or Not” in collaboration with GMK which reached Number 1 on SoundCity Nigeria’s Top 10 Chart in 2015 as well as “The Renaissance” produced by Genio which made its debut on the MTV Base Charts. His projects include 2016’s The Black Couch LP, 2018’s Illusions EP in collaboration with LeriQ, and a collaborative Afro-House project with Benie Macaulay titled Plot 49 released through Urbanmass. Finally, there was the leading single “What You Want” on the Palmwine Music EP produced by Spax for the collective Show Dem Camp in 2017 + “Vibrations” in 2019 respectively.
