Thrilling Night, Chilling Vibe: The Spotify Wrapped Party in Naija

Over the weekend, Lagos was lit as Spotify threw down an unforgettable Wrapped party at the Space Hub in Lekki. This wasn’t just any party; it was a celebration of Nigerian music’s global takeover! The event marked the culmination of the annual Spotify Wrapped parties that had been held in Johannesburg and Nairobi.

Media personalities, social media influencers, and music lovers all gathered to honour the incredible year in Nigerian music, thanks to Spotify’s awesome Wrapped 2024. Did you know that the global streams for Afrobeats on Spotify increased by 34% this year? That’s a major victory for Nigerian artists! And guess what? Local music consumption boomed by a mind-blowing 146%. 

The Wrapped party was a testament to the growth of Nigerian music on Spotify this year. Witnessing the energy and the sheer talent on display was truly inspiring. The party was a non-stop vibe, featuring a stellar lineup of artists and DJs. These talented performers captivated the audience with their unique sounds, showcasing their creativity and providing a platform for music lovers to discover their music.

The dynamic M.I.A. hosted the night, bringing her catching energy and signature style to the event. The party was electric from start to finish.

Brazy kicked things off with her TikTok hits, and then Joshua Baraka from Uganda blew everyone away with songs like Dalilah and Digii IV. Fido teased his new single, Joy Is Coming and then dropped his chart-topping hit Awolowo, sending the energy through the roof.

Ayo Maff, one of Nigeria’s most streamed artists this year, kept the party lit with his hits, and then Morravey mesmerised everyone with her unique sound. Zerrydl, one of the most talked about breakthrough artists, delivered a killer set that had everyone buzzing.

Kaestyle, Mr. Dealer kept the energy electric with dynamic performances, ensuring the dancefloor remained packed throughout the night, while the up-and-coming artist Deela also delivered a stunning performance.

The DJs were on fire too! Wearethechemicals and Aniko, two amazing female DJs, got the party started with their EDM sounds. DJ 4kerty also kept the energy high with a mix of street pop and Afrodura classics

Then, DJ Tunez took the stage and blew the roof off with mixes to songs that ignited the crowd. London brought his signature sound to Lagos, and finally, DJ YK Mule brought the house down with a unique mix of street pop songs.

This year’s Wrapped party was a celebration of music’s power to unite, inspire, and uplift. It showed the undeniable impact of Afrobeats, celebrated the rise of Nigerian artists, and provided a platform for the next generation of music talent.
