‘Pandamonae’ depicts two sides to his musical personality which are black and white. Black representing his deepest side which constitutes pain, struggle, perseverance, and faith; while white, represents love.
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, to a sailor and distinguished chef, and a teacher. Olayinka Fofah (Pandamonae) is an Economics undergrad at Unilag and an Afro-Swing/Fusion singer-songwriter who is poised to make his mark on the global music scene.
At fifteen years old, his father enrolled him in piano classes, marking his first real introduction to music. In 2014 he got his first laptop, and a friend who was a producer/singer helped him install FruityLoops and inspired him to try out music production.
Pandamonae’s interest in music production piqued, and in 2015 he started rapping while his best friend would play the piano. He began to listen to a lot of Kendrick Lamar, Ty Dolla $ign, and other American rappers. Through practice, he soon developed the uncanny ability and skill to sing to almost any type of sound or beat.
After much persuasion from his friend/producer Quest, in 2017, Pandamonae began to record music in a studio for the first time. Shortly after, his first single titled ‘Pull Up’ was produced. He has put out many more songs since then, including ‘Sukura’ which was released in January 2020 to critical acclaim by the dance community. His most recent song “Sweet & Nice” continues to garner significant airplay on major radio stations and online music platforms.
Pandamonae has continued to develop and improve himself as an artiste and is set to be the next big African pop star. He definitely is an act to look out for.
