Discover Black Culture: The Rising Star of Nigerian Music Production.

Black Culture is a remarkably talented artiste and music producer from Ekiti State, Nigeria. Born Joseph Oluwafemi, his passion for music production ignited at an early age when he began playing the piano. Inspired by renowned figures like Amapiano Dj/Producer, Kabza De Smallz and  EDM vanguards, David Guetta, Avicii and Martin Garrix, Black Culture has collaborated with Babyboy AV on tracks like ‘No Dey Form’, ‘Quick Question’),worked with Alpha P and produced for esteemed Afrobeats singer/producer, Tekno (‘Pay’)

When asked about the most interesting project he’s ever worked on, Black responded that it’s an unreleased track with Alpha P titled “Mikano”. “It’s interesting because it represents the type of sound I’m trying to introduce, so watch out for it when it’s finally released,” he shares. He also told us that his dream collaboration would have been with the iconic late king of pop, Michael Jackson.

In a world where producers are releasing projects and some even becoming artists themselves, Black is also wary of the producer tag.  “I prefer to be seen as an artist. I produce (obviously), engineer , DJ and also Sound Design.”

Black Culture is the mastermind behind the production of Babyboy AV’s latest single, “Quick Question.” Recounting the creation of the record, he shared, “I actually saw a post by my guitarist, Gabriel; he was playing something, and I told him to send it immediately because it was so hard! Then I did a rough sketch of what I had in my head and sent it to AV. He called in like 5 mins saying he loved it! And told me to speed it up a bit. And that birthed Quick Question.”

Black Culture is signed to Longitude Promotions which also houses Babyboy AV, Dai Verse, & Victor AD. As a music producer, Black Culture views global acceptance of his sound as the true measure of success. When asked about his future plans, he enthusiastically revealed, “My Tour!!!! Yeah, my first Europe tour, I’m excited about meeting more producers and artistes.”
