Inestimable Returns With Listen to the Music 2 After Three Years

Three years after their last full project, Inestimable returns with Listen to the Music 2, a release that reflects both time away and the decision to come back on their own terms.

The Lagos-based collective first gained attention with Listen to the Music in 2022, a collaborative project that brought multiple artists together and reached Apple Music’s world albums charts in several countries. Since then, there has been a pause in full-length releases. That gap sits at the center of the new project.

Rather than presenting a clean continuation, Listen to the Music 2 feels like a record of what happened in between. It draws from everyday experiences, personal shifts, and the uncertainty that comes with trying to build something over time.

The return is being introduced in phases. A new single, By You, will be released on March 31, ahead of the full project, which follows a week later. While the song does not appear on Listen to the Music 2, it serves as an entry point into the project. At its core, By You is a promise, a reflection of loyalty and presence, expressing a commitment to always show up for the people who listen, support, and grow with the music. In many ways, it sets the tone for the collective’s return.
Across the project, different voices move in and out of focus. Artists contribute where they fit, creating a body of work that feels shared rather than centered on a single perspective.

The lead single, 99 Problem, featuring Adam Srae, Jordanstyls, and Ntwyn, captures the tone of the project with direct writing and a sense of urgency. Across the project, members and non-members of the Inestimable Collective, such as Fosa, Xumm3r, Neked, Didi Blacck, OD Vibes and Combo Wave, appear alongside producers; Mastapiece, Zad and Grammy-nominated Rugged, adding to the range of contributions present on the project.

The music comes out of ongoing studio sessions where ideas are developed in real time. The process is loose but intentional, allowing songs to take shape through collaboration rather than rigid planning.

Outside the music, the collective introduced Problem of the Day, a series of short visual pieces based on everyday frustrations. The format extends the themes of the project into something immediate and familiar.

More than anything, Listen to the Music 2 signals a return. It reconnects the group to where they started while opening the door for what comes next.
This project reflects the collective’s journey over the past few years.
