London-based lo-fi and New Age instrumental artist Olorunfemi is set to release his new EP, Venus, tomorrow, expanding his ever-growing cosmic discography with a project centred on warmth, emotion, and quiet reflection.
Known for crafting immersive, space-themed soundscapes that blend ambient textures with mellow, chill beats, Olorunfemi uses Venus to explore softer planetary energy, focusing on intimacy, calm, and emotional gravity rather than scale or force. Venus has a feel of Highlife and Palmwine music, blending West African rhythms with his signature ambient textures. The EP continues his signature approach to storytelling without words, inviting listeners into a serene sonic environment ideal for focus, late-night listening, and introspection.
Venus arrives as the next chapter in Olorunfemi’s cohesive planetary series, following releases such as Earth (2025), Mars (2025), Saturn (Sátúrùn) (2024), Jupiter (2023), and Moonlight (2023). While previous projects explored movement, vastness, and celestial power, Venus leans into stillness and emotional tone, prioritising texture, space, and subtle melodic progression.
“With Venus, I wanted the music to feel close,” says Olorunfemi. “Not distant or massive, but warm, slow, and personal. It’s about atmosphere that feels human, even when it’s inspired by space.”
Born on January 24, 1994, in Lagos State and originally from Odogbolu, Ogun State, Nigeria, and now based in London, United Kingdom, Olorunfemi has steadily built a recognisable identity within the global lo-fi and ambient community. His work draws inspiration from planets, moons, and cosmic phenomena, forming a unified sonic universe that is minimal yet expressive, cosmic yet intimate.
