Afro-fusion artist Abiola Andre returns with “Top Striker,” a love song celebrating affection, admiration and the ambition of someone special.
Written from the perspective of what comes after the chase, the song is dedicated to someone whose drive Andre admires as much as he loves her. The title comes from his pet name for her, drawing from football, where the striker is the player you build the team around.
Built on African percussion, soft chords, trap-influenced drums and layered vocals, “Top Striker” blends sweet songwriting with a confident Afro-fusion bounce, closing with the repeated refrain, “Omo mi Top Striker.”
Born Emmanuel Abiola Tanimola, Abiola Andre is a Lagos-based singer, songwriter and producer whose music blends Afrobeats, R&B and contemporary African sounds. Since emerging with “Lost In Your Ways,” he has continued to build his catalogue and live presence, performing across Nigeria, the UK and Europe.
